About Betty Lane

Welcome to my new website. My name is Betty Lane, and I have been a practicing artist for a number of years. I'm well known in my area and run a graphic design workshop called Bojangles here in Cardiff.

My work is continually changing, from designing and making jewellery in the 70's and 80's, to making commissioned portraits from life in clay, ceramic pots and glazed ceramic wall-panels.

Now my work has taken a new direction! I borrow images from Astronomy as subject matter - magic images of the universe captured by the Hubble telescope, the voyage of the Beagle to Mars, the Heugen mission to Saturn's moon Titian, and textbooks of Astronomy. Since discovering the wonders of Adobe Photoshop, I design virtual worlds with virtual skies - printed in large sizes for extra impact!
